Ha haaa. The seventh commandment is about sex and sexual desires. There are natural urges to engage in sexual behaviour. God is asking us to channel these properly in marriage. Men are not to have sexual relations with animals. No. Man is told by God to have sexual activity within his species, and within the context and environment of marriage.
At creation, God established the institution of marriage by creating man and later woman. Regarding marriage, God tell us that a man shall leave his father and mother, pick a wife and the to shall become one. What further proof do we need that the institution of marriage is not to be abused. In the seventh commandment, Christians are told not to be wandering in their sexual liaisons.
Under this law, in some interpretations, some christian denominations include fornication, masturbation and gay sexual practices.
Immorality hurts people around us. Partners get devastated when their spouses turn immoral. They wonder what they might have done, or not done, to cause their partner to cheat on them. Broken homes result from adulterous behaviour. This in turn affects children who might be in such a home or family. It is important as Christian parents to not be bad examples to our children. Children and family are supposed to be run by two parents, not one. God did not intent for children to be brought up in one-parent setups.
In a family where adultery creeps in and the other partner gets to know about it, divorce often follows. This has a heavy toll on both parents and their children. Young people who are denied the care and guidance of one parent tend to mature mentally faster and older children have the burden of looking after their younger siblings placed on their shoulders. School grades of these children drop significantly and an emotional disconnect with their parents and teachers takes place. Let us not subject our children to these negative effects of adultery.
On a spiritual level, Christians should not be in a rush to connect spiritually to many people via sex. Leading others to commit adultery is also sinful. Do not be a philanderer who leads others from the path of Godliness by tempting them into committing adultery.
Again, this is not a complete interpretation of the seventh commandment. You should read the seventh commandment and interpret it by yourself and decide how best to follow it. Keep in mind that the seventh commandment is not so much about your relationship with God as it is about your relationship with fellow human beings.
The seventh commandment is found in Exodus chapter 20, verse 14.
