Well well well, when it comes to relationships, a lot suddenly springs to the surface. On #TheniteTalk, we looked at relationships between lovers and how friends can influence them.
Under the microscope on #TheNiteTalk was whether to listen to advice given by friends that touches on your relationship.
Taking such advice depends on the perspective of the receiver and the light in which the advice is given. Of course there could be friends who give you misleading advice and there are those who wish you well.
What one may do is filter out the bad advice and retain the good advice. It is often that we see cases of friends helping resolve conflicts and issues in relationships, though that is a tactic that should be employed with caution too.
There is of course the possibility that a friend could advise you with an aim of driving you and your partner apart, so that they then replace you in the heart of the said partner. Quite a good number of such instances have been recorded, and maybe you also know of one or two.
Friends are important in our lives and we cannot simply dismiss their advice, no matter how good or bad it may be.
It is best to take the words of a friend into your ears, evaluate it and in what light it is given, then make your decision based on your gut feeling. Not all friendly advice is good, not all is bad.
